Desert Island Discs is a BBC Radio 4 programme currently presented by Kirsty Young. The format is simple – a guest is invited to choose eight discs, a book and a luxury to take with them as they’re castaway on a mythical desert island. Like them or not they’re given the complete works of Shakespeare and the Bible.

The eight peices of music (youtube video’s) that I would choose to take with me if I was marooned on a desert island follow in the individual blog entries below. Not that I would ever be invited onto the programme!

Having found that I was stuck with the Bible I think I would take The God Delusion by Richard Dawkins as a counter balance

and for my luxury…probably the current presenter of DID, Kirsty Young.
